Net Meeting is a another remote support tool that works like VNC in that both the local user and the remote user interact and view the same screen. It comes free with all recent versions of Windows (eg Windows 2000, XP) The main differences between the 2 are - A Net Meeting session is always started by the person requiring help
- It requires no special configuration of your ADSL router/modem
- Its a little more involved getting the seesion up and running
The screen shots below (taken under XP) take you through setting up Net Meeting on your PC for the first time 1. Open My Computer - Navigate to and open the Program Files folder on C drive
- Find and open the NetMeeting folder
- Find and double-click the file conf.exe (or it may be named conf in your view)
- The screen shot below is displayed

2. Enter a value for First, Last Name and your email address 
3. You need not set any options on the window shown below - just take Next 
4. Select your connection speed Even though you may use ADSL (Jet-Stream) selecting the option shown below will result in a faster (although not quite so pretty) session as the number of colours are reduced
 ;5. THe defaults shown below are fine for most users 
6. Audio settings can be by-passed clicking the Next option The following shots on Audio settings are not critical to NetMeeting when using it for SpeEDI support as we will normally being talking to you on the phone during a support/trainning session.

7. Click the Next option 
8. Click the Finish option 
9. Starting NetMeeting for the first time The Windows firewall alert (if active) may be displayed as below, take the Unblock option so that NetMeeting will be allowed to access the internet

10. Starting a NetMeeting session - Enter speedi.no-ip.org in the call box
- Click the telephone icon as highlighted below
- SpeEDI Support staff will then instruct you on how to proceed
